South Helena Overlook Residence

The owners of this residence were familiar with the firm’s commercial work at Carroll College and when it came time to relocate from Great Falls to Helena to be closer to their kids and grandchildren, they came to DOWLING with a vision to create a modern work of residential architecture with ample glass to take advantage of multiple view opportunities. The designers utilized a single sloping roof that terminates in the great room and kitchen with expansive views of Mount Ascension, Mount Helena, and the Sleeping Giant to the north. Rain screen detailing with siding, metal roofing, and glass storefront contribute to the modern architecture and low-profile canopies bring the scale down at the outdoor spaces.
