The 8,300 sq ft fire station was built for a budget of $820,000. Simple shapes and materials as well as a collaboration with the fire chief who is a general contractor allowed the team to come up with cost effective solutions for construction. 5 apparatus bays, a community room, sleeping quarters, turnout gear room, a kitchen, and office space make up the building program. The design is dynamic and is an example that many rural fire stations look to for inspiration.
