Yellowstone Science & Health Building at MSU Billings
Yellowstone Hall brings the University’s Science programs and Allied Health Professions under one roof. The 3 story, 30,000 sq ft addition faces downtown Billings with a unique, sleek modern façade with a “sliver of light” that represents student common areas on all three floors. In contrast to the University’s predominately masonry architecture, the building is intentionally modern representing the future of the sciences at MSU-B. The addition resolves circulation patterns in its design, which also results in multiple small student common areas for collaborative learning. Student lab spaces, research lab space, Allied Health labs, and a plant systematics greenhouse are some of the specialty labs in the building.
